the oseman verse book tag

Ages ago I saw the Oseman Verse book tag on Two Book Thieves – well, I thought that I would finally give it a go! This tag was created by Layla @ Readable Life, and it is based on many of the books written by Alice Oseman.

JIMMY KAGA-RICCI
A CHARACTER YOU LOVE WHO OVERCAME SOMETHING HUGE

Probably because I just finished the sequel, but I’m choosing Lei from Girls of Paper and Fire. I love her character arc – and she definitely overcomes a lot.

ROWAN OMONDI
FAVOURITE PROTECTIVE CHARACTER

Georgina from Summer of Salt. She’s really protective of her sister Mary, as well as the island of By-the-Sea.

LISTER BIRD
CHARACTER THAT OOZES CHARM

This might be a bit of a controversial answer, but I found Clara from The Way You Make Me Feel to be very charming. She’s a loveable prankster, and I couldn’t help but like her.

ANGEL RAHIMI
BOOK YOU’RE THE MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT

This is such a hard question!! Let’s go with Queens of Geek, because it was one of the first books where I really saw myself in the characters.

CHARLIE SPRING
FAVOURITE BOOKISH OTP

I don’t tend to have OTPs, because a lot of the books that I read are YA, and therefore the characters are under-age. I feel weird about being super into shipping minors. (That’s just me.) But I did think that Dani and Carmen from We Set the Dark on Fire were a really great and interesting couple.

TORI SPRING
MOST MYSTERIOUS BOOK YOU’VE READ

The Lost Coast for sure!! I loved the strangeness and mystery of this book.

NICK NELSON
FAVOURITE BOOK THAT BRINGS YOU JOY

There are a lot of books that bring me joy! The most recent one that I read that filled my heart up with happiness was The Prince and The Dressmaker. It is a really sweet graphic novel about queerness and cross-dressing.

NELLIE
FAVOURITE BOOK TO SNUGGLE UP WITH

This is probably Good Omens. It’s one of the books that I’ve re-read the most, so it feels very comforting.

ALED LAST
A BOOK THAT HELPED YOU GET THROUGH A ROUGH TIME

This is an interesting question! The book that springs to mind is Meet Cute. When I broke my ankle a couple of years ago a good friend of mine gave it to me. It was a really great distraction from all the worrying about surgery and physiotherapy.

FRANCES JANVIER
A CHARACTER WITH TONS OF DETERMINATION

There are so many!! I’m going to choose Kiko from Starfish. Even when things go wrong, she does whatever she can to follow her dreams.
