asian lit bingo tbr

Asian Lit Bingo is upon us again! I hugely enjoyed reading a bunch of books by Asian authors last May, so I thought I would give it a go again! I’m not sure if I’m going to get a bingo, because I want to focus on reading the books that I already have, rather than buying new ones. However, my proposed TBR should include:

Multiracial/Multiethnic Asian MC – The Astonishing Colour of After

Poor or Working Class Asian MC – Once Upon a Time in the East

Contemporary with Asian MC – Crazy Rich Asians

South Asian MC – A Girl Like That

As you can see, this gets most of the prompts on the last vertical line – however I do not have a book that is a translated work by an Asian author! If you have any (cheap) book suggestions for me, I would be most obliged to you!

If I have time (which I’m not sure I will, seeing as I want to participate in two readathons this month!), I would also like to get to The Bone Witch or The Hungry Ghosts.

  1. Grab the Lapels says:

You should be able to go to your library and get First They Killed My Father by Loung Ung. It’s a memoir about the author growing up in Cambodia during the genocide perpetrated by Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge.
