mental health book bingo wrap-up

It’s February, and that means it’s the end of the Mental Health Book Bingo (boo!). It’s been an absolutely amazing adventure, and one that I couldn’t have imagined myself undertaking a year ago.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped along the way – this includes Inge, Laura, Ayah, Sar, Lauren, Christine, Kav, Neha and CW. They have all been amazingly supportive and I couldn’t have done this without them. I’d also like to thank all of the authors and publishers who collaborated with us during January, including Louise Gorenall, Brandy Colbert, Akemi Dawn Bowman, Katrina Leno and Hello Me It’s You. I hope that you all enjoyed participating!

The Mental Health Book Bingo was designed to educate people about the many varieties of mental health, and to help those who have mental ill health find books that represent them. I’m hoping that everyone who participated got something out of it – please leave a comment saying if you did! I know that I learned a lot about individuals’ experiences of mental health, and about the history of psychiatry, which was incredibly interesting!

Don’t forget to comment on this post saying how many books you managed to read – the person who read the most will be winning a prize! We’ll be announcing the winner on Twitter in a couple of days. I managed to read 7 books, which I’m pretty happy about!

So long for now Mental Health Book Bingo – we might be revisiting you next year. πŸ˜‰

I’d love for you to bring this back at a later date as I didn’t have a chance to get involved this time! But it’s such a great idea, there are so many great books out there on such a huge range of mental health-related topics πŸ™‚
