2016’s best book covers

‘The Loney’ by Andrew Michael Hurley: love me some minimalist book covers (and the novel itself looks pretty good too!)

‘The Stargazer’s Sister’ by Carrie Brown, and Knopf’s Vintage Books version of Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’: classy, elegant, yet still interesting.

‘Lust & Wonder’ by Augusten Burroughs: reminds me of Fahrenheit 451 or something like that – it would definitely make me pick it up to see what it was about, anyway!

Some kids books: ‘Skypig’ is a little bit small on-screen, but it looks to have loads of lovely textures on the wings. I love it when illustrators do that for kids books.

Also artist Joey Spiotto has created pop culture book covers for kids! LOVE THESE.

Finally, some funny book covers, including ‘Something to Food About’ by Questlove, and ‘adult’ versions of the classic Ladybird first readers!

This post was really fun to put together – especially the funny ones! Let me know if I’ve missed some, I’ll definitely take a look. 🙂
