bookshelf tag (part 2!)

Lucy did hers a couple of weeks ago, so I thought it was a good time to do mine! Bear in mind, I’ve only just started settling into my new house, so things are still in a bit of chaos!

Describe your bookshelf and where you got it from: It is a big pine monstrosity that I got from a second-hand shop.

How do you organise your books?: …I don’t, heathen that I am.

What’s the longest book on your shelf?: The Annotated Sherlock Holmes.

What’s the shortest book on your shelf?: Poetry by Rilke.

Is there a book you received as a birthday gift?: All of my birthday books were at uni, so I’ll just have to tell you: for my last birthday Lucy gave me a gorgeous second-hand copy of Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’, which I adore.

The most expensive book on your shelf?: Tales of Beedle the Bard.

The last book you read on your shelf?: Star-Shot

Do you have a complete series?: Chronicles of Narnia! I obviously also have other classics such as Harry Potter, but I seem to be missing the fourth one. Off to the bookshops I go!

What’s the newest addition?: Eyeless in Gaza by Aldous Huxley.

The oldest book?: Peter Pan from the 1940s. Given that I was named after Wendy in Peter Pan, I thought I needed at least one cool copy.

Most beat up book?: Good Omens. I would do a close-up so the full extent of the damage could be seen, but I think Lucy would genuinely kill me.

Most pristine book?: My signed copy of The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

If you’ve done (or plan to do!) the bookshelf tag, let us know! I love peeking into everyone’s personal libraries!
